Q01: What is salvation?

What does the Bible say is salvation? How do I define salvation? If I am being saved, what am I being saved from?

John 3: 1-21

Ephesians 2: 1-10

John 3:5 Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.”

John 3:7 So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’

John 3:14-15 “And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.”

John 3:16 For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

John 3:18 There is no judgement against anyone who believes in him.

Ephesians 2:4-5 But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you are saved!)

Ephesians 2:6 For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 2:8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.

Ephesians 2:9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
